An admission decision is based on the content and level of your bachelor's degree.
- For admission to the MSc in Economics and Business you need a bachelor’s degree (BSc) that consists of a solid background in economics, business economics, mathematics and statistics. To check whether you have a sufficient background in terms of level and content, please compare your curriculum with that of our International Bachelor in Economics and Business Economics bachelor's degree programme. Depending on the specific specialisation you are interested in, some additional courses are recommended. Please note that an abundance of business-oriented credits cannot compensate for a lack of economics-related credits.
Important to note that the graduates of any Economics and Business specialization are awarded a master’s degree in Economics and Business. For the Marketing and the Data Science & Marketing Analytics specializations, applicants must have completed a sufficient number of economics and business courses to qualify for admission. A bachelor’s degree in marketing and/or data science alone may not be sufficient if the programme does not include enough credits in the necessary economics and business subjects.
- For the MSc in Econometrics and Management Science programme you must hold a bachelor’s degree (BSc) in the field of Econometrics and Operations Research, Economics and Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or Industrial Engineering. Your degree has to be equivalent in both level and content to the International Bachelor in Econometrics and Operations Research bachelor's degree programme offered by Erasmus School of Economics.
- The programme MSc in Accounting, Auditing and Control demands a bachelor’s degree (BSc) in the field of accounting, finance, economics or business (administration). To make sure you have a sufficient background in terms of level and content, please compare your curriculum with that of our International Bachelor Economics and Business Economics bachelor's degree programme.
The Erasmus School of Economics follows the Dutch governmenal insitute Nuffic’s advice regarding the comparison of foreign degrees to the Dutch educational level to determine the level of your bachelor’s degree.
Before submitting an application, please compare your bachelor's degree to our bachelor's programmes to assess content similarity. The more overlap, the higher your chances of admission. While applicants with a non-relevant degree may still apply, please note that their likelihood of admission may be very low.
Next, compare your diploma level to Dutch qualifications using the Nuffic website. Only applicants with a bachelor's degree equivalent to a Dutch WO bachelor’s degree are directly eligible for our master's programmes.
We cannot provide a definitive answer on your admissibility in advance. Our office evaluates thousands of applications, and due to time constraints, we are unable to assess admissibility via email. Questions about your admissibility will therefore not be addressed outside of the official application process.
Bachelor’s degrees may differ in content and level, even if they have similar names. Each application is assessed individually and matters such as equivalence in level and content will only be evaluated once a complete application has been submitted.
